Sugar mills in Maharashtra have produced 192.73 lakh quintal sugar till November 29, 2021. According to the sugar commissionerate, a total of 171 sugar mills, including 85 cooperative and 86 private mills, have participated in the cane crushing operations. The mills have crushed 212.13 lakh tonnes of sugarcane with a recovery rate of 9.09 per cent.

Solapur division is leading in the state with maximum (41) mills participating in the cane crushing operations and produced 41.33 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 50.13 lakh tonne sugarcane with recovery rate of 8.24 per cent.

Kolhapur division has achieved a 10 per cent of sugar recovery rate and mills have so far produced 57.42 lakh quintal sugar by crushing 55.55 lakh tonne cane with a recovery rate of 10.34 per cent.
